I was born in Ireland. My family moved to Australia when I was seven, or eight. I travelled the world through the nineties, ending up working in international development in the Pacific — a region steeped in conflict, reconciliation, and cooperation. That work led me to the global negotiating table with one simple idea: peace as the foundation of development. Then the world went to war. Peace and its freedoms were turned against us. We can’t let them be taken away by lies or force.
Peace is not weakness. It’s our source of wealth. Some profit from conflict. Peace makes us all rich. It’s worth fighting for.
This is where I write about that.
